​​​ ​Team Mauritius is an entity which has been set up in line with the creation of an amateur to an elite sports environment, as recommended under one of the major transformational themes of the National Sport and Physical Activity Policy.

• develop the elite sport environment and the athlete development pathway;
• allocate elite sport funding and support to National Sports Federations/Sports Organisations;
• oversee preparation for elite competitions and training camps;
​​• develop partnerships and investments with the private sector into the high-performance sport; and​​
​• ​​maintain a database on the performance of elite athletes. ​
