​​ ​Following the reorganization of the Sports Sector of the Ministry in 2017, the Elite Sub-Directorate was set up to develop and support elite athletes in the pursuit of excellence on the world stage.

​​• Activities and funding of National Sports Federations regarding preparation and participation of elite athletes in national and international competitions.
• Categorisation of National Sports Federations and Sports Organisations
• Athlete Assistance Scheme
​• Cash Prize Scheme ​
​​Mrs. Saroja Devee CADRESSEN - Senior Sports Officer Joined the Ministry in 2000 and promoted to SSO in 2017
Qualification: Bachelor of Physical Education (1997) & Master in Physical Education (1999)
